So Prince William and Kate Middleton are finally getting wed.

Part of me is so envious of them, I love weddings and wish

I could go back and do mine all over again. But then there is

another part of me that wouldn’t wish planning their wedding

on my worst enemy. Whilst this is most young girls’ dream, I

anticipate that there are going to be quite a few elements

which Kate has very little control over! And then there is the

stress! I’m quite happy to admit there was the odd occasion

during the planning of mine when I wanted to leave the country!

One issue I had was with my hubby-to-be. Being a chef he was

obviously quite determined that the food had to be perfect and

many long evenings were spent ripping apart wedding menus

from potential venues. Fortunately we eventually chose a venue

which allowed us to write the menu ourselves so we settled on

smoked salmon for starter, beef for main and raspberry and basil

crème brulee for pud - sounds unusual but is actually delicious!

We were so grateful for our hotel being so flexible as so many

weren’t. This is one of the most important days of your life, so,

if you’re anything like me, you want it to be perfect! So many

venues gave us a selection of menus for all different types of

budget, but weren’t prepared to budge on sometimes the

smallest things. Our hotel allowed us to completely write our

menu, bring in our own wine, bring in a hog roast for the evening

from the local butcher, and even helped repair our cake when it

threatened to collapse before we’d even sat down! Had I not

had so much flexibility and support, I’m sure it wouldn’t have

been the wonderful day it was!

Here at Knife & Fork we are equally as keen to be as flexible

and accommodating as possible when it comes to catering.

We supply menus but we also offer a bespoke service, so

customers can come in and request whatever their hearts

desire………within reason! We want our customers to go away

happy, and to tell all their friends what a good job we did, and

we believe this lies in flexibility, going above and beyond….oh

and of course providing delicious food!
